After looking at a long list of restaurants (there have to be thousands in this city) we decided to go to a small restaurant near the Eiffel Tower which was recommended to us by the people who own this apartment. We had reservations at 8 pm, which is early for the French, who usually don't even start eating til after 9. We took a cab because we weren't sure exactly where it was, but found out that it was easily within walking distance. It was a cute little place, and it filled up as we were enjoying our three course dinner that was special on the menu for Valentines Day. The waiter spoke English, which helped a lot to decipher some of the specialities on the menu. There were Americans at the two tables around us, and we enjoyed talking English to someone for a bit! Dessert was exquisite - chocolate mousse for me and rich chocolate cake for Lyle!
Afterwards, we decided to walk home.....it was a little chilly and foggy.....but gave the Eiffel tower a beautiful glow! What a way to spend this special evening!

Hey Guys...our computer has been out of whack, so we just logged on to your blog...Sounds as if you are having fun with the natives...Penny...Ton francais est bon. Quand nous arrivons, tu traduis pour le deux/quatre. (j'espere) needless to say my grammar is lacking. Looking forward to more info
